ABOUT ME
Gabriela Carter RPC, MPCC
I began working in the field of mental health over twenty five years ago as I trained to become a Psychiatric Nurse. Throughout those years, as I heard individuals share their stories and struggles, I had a growing desire to encourage the hurting with biblical truth. I knew from personal experience, the comfort, hope, and healing God has for us in the midst of suffering. I have now had the privilege of counseling with a Gospel centered approach for over a decade and have seen the healing, growth, and transformation it can bring.
I am a Registered Professional Counselor and Master Practitioner in Clinical Counseling through the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association and have been certified as a Biblical Counselor through the Association of Biblical Counselors. I am also a certified Christian Trauma Care Provider and a member of the Christian Trauma Healing Network.
I have a BA in Psychology from the University of the Fraser Valley and am close to completing a Masters in Biblical Counseling at Westminster Theological Seminary.
I have been a Registered Psychiatric Nurse for 22 years and have specialized in Eating Disorders for the majority of that time, working at the Provincial Adult Tertiary & Specialized Eating Disorders Program first as a front line nurse and then as a Clinical Nurse Educator and Care Coordinator.

When I'm not counseling, I am usually spending time with my husband, four children, and various animals on our one acre homestead.
I love to spend time outdoors; hiking, gardening or swimming in a lake. I also spend a lot of time reading and homeschooling my kids.
