ABOUT ME
Gabriela Carter MAC, RPC, MPCC
I began working in the field of mental health over twenty-five years ago as I trained to become a Psychiatric Nurse. Throughout those years, as I heard individuals share their stories and struggles, I had a growing desire to encourage the hurting with biblical truth. I knew from personal experience, the comfort, hope, and healing God has for us in the midst of suffering. I have now had the privilege of counseling women of all ages with a Gospel centered approach for over a decade and have seen the healing, growth, and transformation it can bring.

In addition to my work as a counselor, I bring 23 years of experience as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, with a primary focus on eating disorders. For the majority of my career, I have worked in British Columbia’s Specialized Eating Disorders Program, initially as a front-line nurse, and later in leadership roles as Care Coordinator and Clinical Nurse Educator. These decades have brought precious learning that I bring into my work as biblical counselor.
I am also passionate about my work at Central Community Church in Chilliwack, BC. My role as Care & Counseling Director involves equipping the church for personal discipleship through intentional helping relationships, mentorship, and counseling. We are working toward developing a robust Care & Counseling ministry, and laying the groundwork for a professional biblical counseling center.
When I'm not counseling, I am usually spending time with my husband, four children, and various animals on our one-acre homestead.
I love to spend time outdoors, hiking, gardening or swimming in a lake. I also spend a lot of time reading and homeschooling my kids.
